I am a grief therapist based in the Boston area, offering online grief counseling for adults across Massachusetts. All sessions are conducted virtually through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform, so you can meet from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
Even though my office is in the Boston area, I work with clients throughout the state, including Cambridge, Somerville, Brookline, and surrounding communities, providing compassionate support for those navigating loss and life transitions.

Yes. All sessions are held virtually through a secure telehealth platform, allowing you to meet from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

Grief counseling provides a compassionate space to process the pain of loss. Together, we explore your experience at your own pace—honoring your relationship with the person or part of life you’ve lost, while helping you find steadiness and meaning in this new chapter.
-
There’s no set timeline for grief. Some people find short-term support helpful for navigating life after loss, while others benefit from ongoing therapy as they adjust to life after loss. We’ll discuss your needs and goals to find a pace that feels right for you.
-
Friends and family often want to help but may not know how, or may expect you to “move on” before you’re ready. In grief therapy, you have a trained professional who offers support without judgment or timeline—someone who understands the complex emotions and changes that come with loss.
-
The first session is an opportunity to share what brings you to therapy and what you’re hoping for. We’ll explore your story, discuss your goals, and begin identifying ways to support you through this time. It’s also a chance for you to see if my approach feels like a good fit.
-
Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build consistency and momentum in the work. Over time, we may decide together to meet less frequently as you feel more grounded and confident using the tools we’ve developed. The frequency is flexible and always tailored to your needs, the pace of your grief process, and what feels most supportive for you.
-
Grief counseling doesn’t erase the pain of loss, but it can help you carry it with more steadiness and meaning. Over time, clients often describe feeling less overwhelmed and more connected—to themselves, to others, and to the life they’re rebuilding. You may notice a greater ability to navigate waves of emotion, improved sleep or focus, renewed motivation, and moments of peace or even joy. The process can help you integrate the loss into your life story in a way that honors your loved one and supports your continued growth. Everyone’s experience of grief is unique, so progress may look different for each person—but healing is always possible
-
Not at all. Grief can arise from many life transitions—divorce, caregiving, retirement, relocation, or other major changes. If you’re struggling with a loss or shift that has altered your sense of self or stability, grief counseling can help you navigate it.
-
I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. However, I can provide a detailed statement (a “superbill”) that you may submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Many clients choose self-pay for greater privacy and flexibility.
-
At Awakened Grief Care we’ve chosen to remain out of network because it allows us to focus entirely on what’s best for you or your child. Many insurance plans place restrictions on therapy, such as limiting the number of sessions, dictating session length, or requiring specific diagnoses to approve treatment. These limitations can make it harder to provide the tailored, in-depth care you deserve.
How to check your out-of-network benefits
If you’d like to see whether your insurance plan reimburses for out-of-network therapy, call the member services number on your insurance card and ask:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
What percentage of the session fee is reimbursed?
Is there an annual deductible, and how much of it has been met?
How do I submit a superbill for reimbursement?
If your plan includes out-of-network coverage, your insurance company will reimburse you directly after you submit the documentation I provide.

My rate is $200 for a 50 minute session.

You can begin by scheduling a free 15-minute consultation. This brief call gives us a chance to connect, discuss what you’re looking for, and answer any questions you may have before committing to ongoing therapy.
